Virginia was born September 7, 1928 to Alonzo and Laura Winbolt in Tobias, Neb. The family later moved to Grants Pass, Ore., where Virginia graduated from high school. She was a cheerleader during her high school years, and active in sports. She met and married William Lee Dent in Grants Pass, Sept. 9, 1948. They had seven children, five born in California and two in Grants Pass, between 1949 and 1968. Virginia and William divorced in 1969. Virginia met Edward Gene Hoover in Phoenix, Ore.; they were married May 31, 1972, and lived on Pacific Lane in Phoenix until 1979. During these years Virginia worked for New Horizons wiring electrical boards, eventually working her way up to management. The family moved to Grandview, Wash. where Virginia and daughter, Becky opened a clothing store called the Rainbow Jeanery, selling the latest styles in clothing, shoes, and jewelry. She was also very active with the local VFW helping with fundraisers, cooking, and other events. Virginia and Edward moved to Carson City, Nev., to retire in 1991. She was one of the founding members of the Carson City Raiders Booster Club, helping with all fundraisers and events over the many years they resided there. She stayed a loyal Raider fan for the rest of her life. In 2005, she and Edward returned to Oregon to live in Central Point where her children built a cute little home for them to live in, and be lovingly watched over by her family. She leaves behind six heartbroken children and spouses, Marilyn Dent Richard Dent, Debra and Gary Singler, Becky and Bob Griffith, Lucinda Dent, Christopher and Tanya Dent, and Susan and Burns Fouch. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her eldest son, Thomas; and her grandson, Jasper. It is time to say good-bye Mom.
