Jackson County reports 111 COVID-19 cases over weekend By Vickie Aldous By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Dec 06, 2021 03:33 PM A A Jackson County reported 111 COVID-19 cases from Friday through Sunday and no new COVID-19 related deaths. For the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4, Jackson County Public Health reported 405 new COVID-19 cases, up 68% from the previous week. After falling to a low of 32 hospitalized patients in Jackson and Josephine counties Nov. 21 following the summer and autumn COVID-19 surge, hospitalization rates are creeping back up. Fifty-four people were hospitalized with COVID-19 Monday in Jackson and Josephine counties. Of those, 17 were in intensive care and seven were on ventilators, according to hospitalization data. Statewide, the Oregon Health Authority reported 2,041 COVID-19 cases and 25 more deaths from Friday through Sunday.
