SINCE YOU ASKED Since You Asked: Video games need a home Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jan. 17, 2015 at 12:01 AM Posted Jan. 17, 2015 at 12:01 AM » Social News I'm relatively new in town (since last September), and I have all the parts to an Xbox, a Kinect and a Wii setup that I never use. Plus about 15 games that go with these. I'd like to donate them to a shelter where moms and kids have to hang out. Or somewhere equally as useful if they're already covered. Please let me know who I might contact — or if you know of any institutions that might need them more. I don't care if you print this, but if you do, I would prefer you keep me anonymous. That's not what this is all about. Thanks. Nice gesture, Anonymous. Assuming you haven't already found a home for your hardware and software, we have a few suggestions for you. We called around to several youth and women's shelters and resource centers to see who would be able to take on such a donation, and we were able to get a nod from four. That's not to say there aren't others, but this is enough to at least get you started, we thought. The Maslow Project, a resource center for homeless youth and their families, accepts donations. You can reach them at 541-608-6868. Hearts With a Mission, a shelter and resource center for homeless youth, also gave the thumbs-up, saying even if they couldn't use it, that they'd pass it on to another agency that could. You can reach them at 541-646-7385. The Magdalene Home, a home for teenage mothers, said yes, too. You can call them at 541-773-5040. Finally, Hope House, the Salvation Army's transitional facility for families, also said OK. Their phone number is 541-773-7005. Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by email to [email protected]. We’re sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.   MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jan. 17, 2015 at 12:01 AM » Comment or view comments Reader Reaction » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
