Bellingham’s Bailey Dorf scored with about six minutes to go in the second period and the visiting Blaze made that score hold up to pin a 1-0 loss on the Southern Oregon Spartans in Western States Hockey League action Saturday at The RRRink. Dorf scored off an assist by Tristan Slot for the Blaze (5-3), which saw goalie Alexander Olson record 39 saves to earn the shutout. Southern Oregon goalie Mark Vlahovic stopped 16 shots for the Spartans (6-2), who will look to take the three-game series in today’s 1:30 p.m. contest at The RRRink.
