The team was made up of Darrold Crane of Eagle Point, Skip Algeo of Rogue River, Brett Baker of Medford, Dan Burdick of Grants Pass and Ken Cavener of Shady Cove. It was undefeated in this 102 team event. Bowling Lela Larkin defeated Marshall Holman in a "Battle of the Sexes" bowling matchup Saturday at Roxy Ann Lanes. Larkin, the only woman in the 61-year history of the state women’s bowling tournament to roll a perfect game, won the two-game exhibition with scores of 256 and 259 for a 515 total. Holman, a Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer and voted one of the top 20 bowlers of the 20th century, had games of 214 and 266 for a 480 total. The confrontation, reminiscent of the famed Billie Jean King-Bobby Riggs tennis match of 1973, raised money for the Kids Health Connection, a school-based health center. The goal was to raise $12,000, but not all pledges have been collected. Advertisement "I think we are very close," said Debbie Wilson, of the Kids Health Center, in a release. Golf Dan Hilgendorf aced the par-4, 283-yard third hole at Cedar Links Golf Course on April 12. The hole-in-one was Hilgendorf’s first. The shot was witnessed by Jake Villa. Basketball University of Montana junior Jody McLeod , of Prospect, won the Grace Geil most improved player award as voted by her teammates. McLeod, an honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection, average 9.0 points, 7.1 rebounds while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 84.2 percent from the line in league play. McLeod had all four of her double-doubles in conference action.
