The unidentified woman filed her complaint with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries over an Aug. 19 incident in which a man grabbed, kissed and sexually assaulted her at the club, the Oregonian reported. She reported the incident the next day, and the following night was told by a supervisor that she would be sent home if she continued talking about the incident at work. She was removed from her next two scheduled shifts and then fired. The club replaced her with a male DJ. Investigators found substantial evidence she was fired for reporting the incident. Labor bureau spokesman Charlie Burr says this opens the door for the two parties to negotiate a settlement before the Administrative Prosecution Unit takes over and decides whether to file charges against the employer. Val's Fine's Foods is named in the complaint filed in December of last year as the company that does business as Shimmers. A Facebook page for the club says it's now called Shimmers Gentlemen's Club. President and owner Thomas Webb referred questions to his lawyer, who did not respond to a request for comment.
