G. Holldorff's Royal Hawaiian Serenaders, seven in number, will appear in concert. They will appear in connection with the Page theater movie program, headed by "Jewel," a special picture attraction, which is the most beautiful story ever adapted for the screen, and then there is the clever Ford Sterling in a comedy. The troupe of Hawaiians appeared throughout the San Francisco exposition at the Hawaiian building in the daily concerts, attracting much attention. In addition to the singing numbers, they also introduce Princess Annie Kealoha in refined native dances. BEGIN ACTION TO TEST VALIDITY OF ASSESSMENTS According to a statement made late yesterday afternoon by City Attorney McCabe, after conferences with attorneys Reames, Crewes and Phipps, action is the suit to test the validity of the paving lines held by the City of Medford will be begun at the next council meeting when a resolution will be presented to the council for passage authorizing a warrant to be issued by the City Recorder directing the chief of police to levy forthwith against the property to be proceeded against and to seal it in the manner prescribed by law for delinquent state and county tax. This will require a publication in the Medford papers covering a period of four weeks. During that time Attorneys Crewes and Phipps will file a complaint, secure an injunction which will stay proceedings until the case is heard in the Circuit Court and carried to the Supreme Court. The attorneys have agreed to bring out all available points in the case, instead of agreeing on certain points of lay and confiding the case to them as was at first intended. It is probable that the property proceeded against will be that on West Second street, owned by Dalbert Fehl. APPLEGATE Most of the farmers around here have their hay down or in the barn. There are some extra good crops of alfalfa and some very nice grain hay, although the weather has been very cold for June.
