Investigators say Tyler Jesse Sandoval fired a handgun at an apartment complex stairwell at 1003 Narregan St. during a verbal altercation that almost turned physical. Whether the incident is gang-related is still under investigation. "We can't say for certain," Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said . "We're still looking for people. We're still trying to figure out what was going on regarding this dispute." On Thursday afternoon, three other males thought to be with Sandoval during the incident had turned themselves in to police, Budreau said. They included 18-year-old Latraveon Deshawn "Trey" Wesley, 17-year-old Chino Acuna and another male whose name wasn't released. Police are still looking for Sandoval and a fifth teen who reportedly was present, 18-year-old Santiago Loveland-Flores. The incident was reported at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday at the Narregan Street apartment complex. The five males reportedly had been driving around the apartment complex in a white Honda when they suddenly stopped. Budreau said four of the occupants, including Sandoval, got out of the car and got into an argument with several people in the parking lot. At one point, one of the males — it's not known who — swung a bucket at one of the females in the group. She screamed, drawing several people to the area. "As this was going on, one of the individuals, who we believe is Tyler Sandoval, produce a handgun and began firing basically at an apartment stairwell," Budreau said. "It just so happened there were several subjects around at that time in very close proximity." Investigators believe Sandoval fired three shots. The bullets didn't hit anyone, and the group took off in the Honda, speeding away south toward West Jackson Street. The Honda is a white Accord with Oregon license plate XPF 620. Sandoval is Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, and he has a large tattoo of the numbers "817" on his neck. Loveland-Flores is Hispanic, 5-feet-6 and 160 pounds. Budreau said Flores-Loveland has a warrant for his arrest for allegedly running away from the Oregon Youth Authority in July, where he had been staying because of a previous assault case, police said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact 911. Police say the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] .
