Sheriff’s office investigating fatal head-on crash By Ryan Pfeil Updated: May 20, 2021 10:32 AM A A Misc. Emergency One person has died following a Thursday morning traffic crash on Rogue River Drive, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported. Police and fire units responded at 7:25 a.m. to the two-vehicle head-on crash, in the 4000 block of the road, near Takelma County Park, according to dispatch records and sheriff’s office spokesman Mike Moran. “At this point, one person has died, and the other person driving the other car is at a hospital,” Moran said. Additional details about the crash, including factors that led up to it, vehicles, and individuals involved, were not immediately available. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team is on scene investigating, Moran said. The road is closed to thru traffic during the investigation, county roads department director John Vial said.
