Her heavy drinking sometimes found her in trouble with the law, but no charges were pending against Seyedin at the time of her disappearance. She may have had a violent relationship with a boyfriend, who refuses to talk to police. Investigators now say they believe she was murdered. Robert Michael Bobo Missing: October 1998 Advertisement A 36-year-old Prospect resident, Bobo disappeared from a remote campground near Woodruff Meadows. He was last seen by a friend who dropped him off at the campsite in the Rogue River National Forest between Prospect and Union Creek. When another friend arrived the next morning to pick him up, Bobo had disappeared, although his camping gear, belongings and favorite hat were at the campsite. Police found no evidence of foul play. Danny Lee Kelley Missing: June 1995 Upset over a divorce, Kelley had come from Washington to stay with friends near Gold Hill. His mother reported that her 35-year-old son was missing after family members tried to pick him up and found him intoxicated and delusional. He fled from his family and may have fallen or jumped into the Rogue River, investigators said. Koni Lynn Berry Murdered: January 1995 Berry, 29, was last seen at a nightclub in Talent, when she told friends she would return in 20 minutes. Police say she was carrying a large sum of money with which she had planned to buy drugs. Her car was found in an orchard outside Phoenix several days after she disappeared. Some motorists stranded near Anderson Butte in April found Berry’s body, which had been stabbed multiple times. The money was gone. Investigators said they believe a possible suspect fled to Mexico. Nicole H�tu Murdered: August 1994 Road workers on Highway 140 uncovered H�tu’s frost-bitten body in March 1995. With no identification, she was a Jane Doe until Oregon State Police investigators uncovered a missing person report from Canada that matched the 23-year-old Montreal murder victim. Tips and tireless police work eventually linked H�tu’s murder to a Werner truck driver who traveled Highway 140 on the day of her disappearance. The man has refused to talk to police. Julio Antonio Bonilla Cardinas Murdered: March 1992 A Medford Corp. employee found Bonilla’s body in a transients’ shack near railroad tracks that cut across the sprawling mill grounds formerly north of Medford. The 20-year-old had been beaten in the head with a piece of lumber, which was found near his body. Investigators identified neither a suspect nor a motive. Timothy Lee Keays Missing: June 1989 Keays’ mother reported that her 32-year-old son was last seen on the campus of Southern Oregon State College. A Vietnam veteran who took medication for respiratory ailments, he was living with his mother in Talent. Acting on information that Keays may have been the victim of foul play, investigators with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department in 1993 searched ponds near Interstate 5 in the Talent area without result. Russell Eugene Johnson Murdered: December 1985 Johnson, 35, was in his home near Ruch when someone outside shot him through the living room window. He fell dead of a shot to the head from a high-powered rifle. A friend of Johnson’s said she saw two men come in the house and search for drugs. They may have taken a large amount of marijuana, detectives said. It was rumored that Johnson was ripping off a drug dealer, detectives said. Edward Chester Nye Missing: June 1978 The 14-year-old from Aloha was last seen during a church camping trip to the Sky Lakes area near Butte Falls. He told his brother that he was going downstream to fish and was never seen again. Jay Calvin Pringle Missing: 1977 Pringle’s mother reported that her 17-year-old son was missing after a friend last saw him in Los Angeles. Friend Robert Harry Kellogg returned to Medford from Nevada after spending all of Pringle’s money. He left Oregon during the investigation of Pringle’s disappearance. Detectives said they have suspicions about Kellogg’s involvement with Pringle’s disappearance. Dennis Scott Cole Murdered: October 1976-April 1977 Motorists traveling Highway 66 outside Ashland in April 1977 spotted skeletal remains near the Greensprings Summit. The body was later determined to be that of Cole, who was 22 when he left his parents’ home in Santa Clara, Calif., in October 1976. Police presume he was en route back to his home off Highway 66. An autopsy determined he’d been shot twice. No suspects were ever identified. The Cowden family Murdered: September 1974 The disappearance and horrifying murder of Richard and Belinda Cowden and their two children captivated North America. Seven months after their Sept. 1 disappearance from the Carberry Creek area near Applegate, the Cowdens’ bodies were found about seven miles from their campsite. The investigation eventually centered on paroled murderer Dwain Lee Little who was seen buying gas in Ruch the day the Cowdens went missing. In 1980, Little was convicted of the rape and murder of a Tigard woman. His parole has since been revoked, and he likely will never leave the Oregon State Prison, but the Cowden case remains open until Little confesses, OSP officials said. Marian Stella Hamilton Murdered: March 1960 Hamilton was shot nine times in her Ashland home on East Main Street. Her husband returned to the house to find the screen door open and her body on the living room rug. Investigators said they had several suspects at the time, and all were cleared except a boyfriend who refused to take a polygraph test. He was killed in a traffic accident in California a year later.
