Last Chance Open meet last weekend at the Grants Pass YMCA. Ghiglieri grabbed wins in the 100 butterfly (58.28), 100 freestyle (53.0), 200 free (1:57.75), 200 fly (2:12.5), 50 free (23.72) and 200 individual medley (2:10.75). Works pulls off upset inLithia Motors Open Emily Works upended fellow Medford player and top-seeded Megan Berdelman, 6-2, 6-4, in the finals of the women's 3.5 singles in the Lithia Motors Open at the Southern Oregon Tennis Club on Sunday. Medford top seeds Marcia La Fond and Marielke Funke each claimed championships in the women's 3.0 and 4.0 singles finals, respectively. La Fond tripped up Rogue River's Natasha Guretsky, 6-2, 6-1, and Funke endured a fight from Southern Oregon University player Mallory Byers in the first set, 7-6, before routing her 6-1 in the decisive second set. Medford's Jackie Thiebe and Ginny Anderson defeated Loretta MacPherson and Judy Rowan, 6-0, 6-3, in the 3.5 doubles final while Rebecca Clark and Cynthia Ogden outshined the SOU combo of Sonia Aguilera and Erin Bruni, 6-3, 6-2.
