Triple-digit temps in the forecast By Hans Boyle of the Mail Tribune Jul 16, 2020 03:37 PM A A Medford residents should expect toasty weather to continue. The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures in the high 90s this weekend and in the 100s starting Monday. A high of 92 is expected Friday, said Miles Bliss, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Medford. Saturday calls for a high of 95, and Sunday’s forecast is 99 degrees. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday are forecast to reach 102 and 103. “That’s the way it’s trending,” said Bliss, adding temperatures won’t cool off into the low 90s again until after Thursday. The Weather Service has not issued a heat advisory, but the Rogue and Shasta valleys are on the borderline, according to Bliss. Based on climatological data, this weekend’s forecast is not unexpected. “It’s not unheard of to have these (triple-digit) temperatures this time of year,” Bliss said.
