College. The Raiders, the No. 13 seed in the 20-team event, defeated No. 12 LCU, 30-28, 27-30, 30-25, 30-14, in their fourth and final pool play match Friday afternoon, and moments afterward, SOU followed up the victory by downing the Texas school, 30-21, in the first of two one-game tiebreakers that determined the eighth and final spot in the national quarterfinal round. Southern Oregon settled for a ninth-place national tournament finish for the second straight season after falling 30-27 to defending national champion and No. 4-seeded Columbia in the second one-game playoff tilt. The Raiders overcame a 19-10 deficit to force a 27-all tie, but the three-time NAIA champion Cougars rattled off three straight points to end SOU’s season.
