Recycle your plastics Friday and Saturday at White City transfer station Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted May. 14, 2015 at 12:40 PM Posted May. 14, 2015 at 12:40 PM » Social News The Spring 2015 Plastic Round-up is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 15-16, at a new location: Rogue Disposal's transfer station at 8001 Table Rock Road, White City. The Jackson County Recycling Partnership is hosting the event, which will cost $5 per household for residents and $5 per yard for businesses and those with large loads. Only clean, presorted plastic will be accepted. Participants should presort their plastic into three categories: soft plastic, hard plastic and nursery plastic. The round-up is no longer accepting video cassettes, tapes or 8-tracks unless the tape is removed in advance. A recycling partnership news release said the new location will help improve logistics and save resources, money and time. Unlike the previous site, the Jackson County fairgrounds, the transfer station already has a baler, forklifts and other equipment as well as ample storage. Items that will not accepted include vinyl, metal parts, rubber, containers with chemical residue and Styrofoam. A list of acceptable and unacceptable items is posted at www.jcrecycle.org .
