Jackson County sheriff's deputies Monday afternoon arrested Aaron Cecena without incident at a residence on Garrison Avenue in White City, authorities said. He was taken into custody on charges of unlawful Use of a Weapon, five counts of reckless endangering, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct and first-degree theft. He was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail without bail. Sheriff's deputies about 11:42 p.m. received several reports of the sound of multiple gunshots and then a speeding vehicle at the intersection of Avenue H and Atlantic Avenue in White City, authorities said. When police arrived, they found no people or vehicles associated with the crime, which was suspected to be gang-related, deputies said. However, two bullet holes were found in the side of a house that was not believed to be the target of the shooting. One of those bullets was found inside a pillow on a bed where a resident of the home was sleeping, deputies said. The case remained under investigation Monday and Cecena had been identified as a suspect in the case when deputies were called to the 7600 block of Garrison Avenue on an unrelated matter, deputies said. While there, they discovered Cecena's vehicle then discovered him at a nearby residence, police said. The case will be forwarded this week to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office for consideration, deputies said. Reach reporter Mark Freeman at 541-776-4470 or [email protected] .
