Forest takes part in Lands Day GRANTS PASS -- The Siskiyou National Forest is one of three nationally recognized Oregon hosts celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday. In addition to promoting volunteerism, the national event focuses on sharing land stewardship with local communities while providing environmental education. Activites included Saturday will involve trail building, fence and corral repair and noxious weed removal at the Waters Creek Interpretive Loop Trail and the Sam Brown Campground, both in the Galice Ranger District. In the Illinois Valley Ranger District, volunteers will work on train maintenance activities at the Grayback Campground Barrier-Free Nature Trail. Food and beverages will be provided to the volunteers at the work sites.
