North girls, KU boys swim to victory The North Medford girls and Klamath Union boys came out on top in a Southern Oregon Conference two-way swim meet Wednesday at the Medford YMCA. The Black Tornado girls earned 104 points to the Pelicans' 65, while the KU boys garnered 75 points to North's 67. Erin Kulmac (200-meter individual medley and 100 backstroke) and Jamie Erickson (200 freestyle and 100 fly) each recorded a pair of individual victories to pace the Tornado girls. Kulmac also swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay squad. The North boys lost despite taking first in seven of the 11 events. Dan Oliver (50 freestyle and 100 backstroke) and Nick Stevenson (200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke) led the Tornado with two firsts apiece and both were part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
