Jackson St., Medford. The film, “Chosen,” is a brief documentary that tells the true story of how two American teenage girls were tricked into the violence of the sex industry. The showing will be followed by a panel featuring Medford police Detective Jim Williams; Faith Morse, director of the Oregon Human Trafficking Task Force of Jackson County; Caleb LaPlante, outreach coordinator of Abolish Child Trafficking of Southern Oregon; and victim’s advocate Randy Ellison, author of "Boys Don’t Tell." Rev. Kurt Katzmar will precede the discussion with a sermon exploring the shadow side of human character and community at 10 a.m. The church also offers two book studies. "Christianity after Religion," by Diana Butler Bass, co-sponsored with Medford First Presbyterian Church, meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at First Presbyterian, 85 S. Holly St. "This Changes Everything," by Naomi Klein, meets on the fourth Thursday of the month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. the church. A progressive Sunday Church School program is provided for elementary and middle school students. For more information, call 541-772-8860. Society of Friends offers Quakers course Beginning Sunday, Jan. 25, South Mountain Friends Meeting in Ashland will offer Quakers 101, a seven-part course in the history, beliefs and practices of the Society of Friends. Subsequent classes will be held on the second and fourth Sunday of February, March and April. The classes are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Meeting House, 543 S. Mountain Ave. The public is invited to attend any or all seven classes. They are welcome to stay and experience Quaker worship at 11 a.m. Among class topics will be "Seekers and Finders: The Experience of Early Friends," "The Light Within" and "Quaker Testimonies" (on nonviolence, simple living, etc.). The first 30 minutes of each class will be devoted to a presentation of the subject matter; the remaining hour will be a facilitated discussion. 'Back Side of Judgment' topic at First Presbyterian "Back Side of Judgment" is Pastor Murray Richmond's message for both the 8:30 a.m. informal service and the 10:30 a.m. traditional service Sunday, Jan. 25, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Ascension Lutheran plans Family Sunday School Ascension Lutheran Church plans Family Sunday School for all ages at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the church, 675 Black Oak Drive, Medford. It will feature the parable of the sower. Worship at 9:30 a.m. includes Holy Communion every Sunday. The church also plans a free community dinner at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27. For more information, call 541-773-3594. St. Mark's holds annual meeting Worship services will begin at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford. Parishioners are asked to bring canned food to both services to stock the church's Food Pantry, which is open from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays. More than 6,000 pounds was donated by the members in 2014. Note-ables concert planned in Central Point First Presbyterian Church of Central Point will hold a Praise Gathering at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, followed by a free concert at 6:30 p.m. The concert features The Note-ables, a local group that performs at many venues around the Rogue Valley. First Presbyterian Church is at 456 W. Pine St., Central Point. Walsch leads service at Spiritual Living Neale Donald Walsch, interim spiritual director for the Center for Spiritual Living Rogue Valley, will discuss “God Wants Us to Return to Heaven” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the center, 3581 Lear Way, Medford. A meditation will be led from 10 to 10:15 a.m. Meredith McFadden will provide music. Treasure mapping will take place after the service. Participants should bring poster board, magazines, etc. to create their own personal or collective vision for 2015. A "Conversations with God" study group continues on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Butte Creek Baptist holds weekly services Butte Creek Baptist Church holds Sunday worship services at 11 a.m. (child care is provided). It also holds evening Bible study at 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Tabernacle organist coming to Medford Richard Elliott, one of the organists at Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, will perform a concert at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at First Presbyterian Church in Medford. Elliott's appearance is being sponsored by members of the Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The church is at 85 S.
