A Wednesday morning fire damaged a double-wide mobile home in Central Point, but no one was hurt, as the structure was reportedly vacant. Officials received a 911 call at 5:09 a.m. about a fire in the 3900 block of Tamarack Road, according to dispatch records. Jackson County Fire District No. 3 and Medford Fire-Rescue responded with two engines from each agency and knocked the blaze down within about 15 minutes of arriving, according to Fire District 3 spokeswoman Ashley Blakely. The vacant building served as an area for storage, Blakely said. “It didn’t consume the entire double wide, but there is extensive damage,” she said. The cause is under investigation.
