Power problems behind Charter Spectrum outages Thursday Jun 1, 2017 at 8:56 PM Jun 1, 2017 at 9:00 PM Charter Communications says that "power issues" were why many parts of Southern Oregon couldn't watch the bulk of the NBA finals Thursday because of an interruption to its Charter Spectrum TV and internet services. Spectrum spokesman Bret Picciolo said services should be coming back online as of 8:50 p.m. after an outage estimated to have lasted about an hour and a half. He gave a statement: "Power issues impacted service for Spectrum customers in the Medford area. Our engineering team has worked to resolve the issue and services are now restoring." Informal reports at the website DownDetector.com showed local complaints of intermittent cable and internet service in Medford, Ashland, Rogue River and Phoenix between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Some areas reportedly were restored only to lose service again during that window.  Picciolo couldn't say at press time what caused the outages, or if outages reported in Hood River and The Dalles were related.
