ESPN || Major League Baseball || NBA || NFL Lane leads way at Best of West stage bike race Ryan Lane of the Sierra Speed Gel team leads the 1997 Best of the West Junior Olypic Stage Race after two days of competition. Lane has a 1:55 advantage over his closest competitor, Seth Angevine of the San Jose Bike Club, in the men's 19-22 age division. The final stage of the three-day event concludes today at 8 a.m. with the Alba Park Criterium. The criterium will be run on a course through downtown Medford with riders reaching speeds of up to 30 mph. Renowned U.S. cyclist Lance Armstrong will hand out awards at 1 p.m. in Alba Park.
