Sanders made his initial appearance Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree theft. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail, then released after posting bail. Crime reports Theft — 3000 block of Cheltenham Way, Medford. A Medford police officer Wednesday took a report of a theft in which a CD player, amplifier and speakers valued at $1,400 were stolen from a vehicle. Fire calls Grass fires — Crews from Jackson County Fire District No. 3 had a busy Wednesday, responding to three small grass fires near White City. The first fire was reported at 9:32 a.m. in the 500 block of East Antelope Road. Capt. Dennis Jordan said crews were able to extinguish the blaze after it burned about one acre of dry grass. At about 10:15 a.m., firefighters responded to a spot fire along Gold Ray Road, before handling another small roadside blaze along Avenue H, Jordan said. "It’s all little stuff," Jordan said. "But with the humidities so low today, almost anything seems to get these going."
