Four suspects held in crime spree Police arrest man linked to Gold Hill bank robbery By JIM DAVIS Police arrested the second of two men Thursday who they believe are responsible for several recent robberies in Jackson County. Darrin George DuBouch, 26, worked with Edward Charles Brissette in the robbery of a Gold Hill bank, said Medford police Lt. Tim George. "Merry Christmas, Medford," George said. "We're a safer place to live and work because we have Mr. Dubouch and Mr. Brissette in custody." On Wednesday, police also arrested Vanessa D'Ann Davis, 26, of Medford, for allegedly helping DuBouch rob the Medford Salvation Army earlier this month. Also, police added a charge of theft by deception against Maria Elena Scribner, 32, of Medford, for allegedly taking a kettle of money from a Salvation Army worker last month. Detectives believe the four suspects -- Brissette, DuBouch, Davis and Scribner -- were associates, George said. "We are alleging that Dubouch is certainly involved with Brissette in the (Gold Hill robbery)," George said. He declined to discuss why police think the four are connected or what led to the arrest of DuBouch, Davis and Scribner. He said police are still investigating the case. "It's not over yet," George said. Last month and earlier this month, two men -- an older man and a younger man -- robbed businesses throughout Jackson County. The businesses ranged from a pizzeria in White City to a tanning shop in Medford and included at least three banks. Police called the robberies "frustrating." On Dec. 12, Medford police arrested Brissette, 53, at his home in Central Point and have alleged that he helped rob the Western Bank in Gold Hill and a Purple Parrot restaurant in Central Point. Also last week, police charged Scribner with conspiracy to rob the Gold Hill bank and said they believed she was an associate of Brissette. On Wednesday, Medford police arrested Davis at 4:50 p.m. at 1050 Spring St. No. 35 in Medford. At 1:05 p.m. Thursday, Medford police and the FBI arrested DuBouch at 2020 S. Pacific Highway No. 40 in Ashland. George said the pieces came together in the past couple of days. "There's been an enormous amount of work on this," he said. "Our work has been fruitful all of a sudden." He said the four people have not been connected to all of the robberies. DuBouch, address unknown, was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on two counts each of first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Those charges stem from the armed robberies of the Gold Hill Western Bank and the Salvation Army. DuBouch was also charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and held without bail for allegedly violating parole. Davis, of 14 Hawthorne St. No. 2 in Medford, was lodged on one count each of first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery stemming from the Gold Hill heist. She was being held on $100,000 bail. Brissette was a former employee of the Salvation Army. On Thursday night, Salvation Army Capt.
