Henley takes two from Lakeview LAKEVIEW - The Henley softball team turned a competitive Skyline Conference doubleheader into a rout Monday. The Hornets squeaked past Lakeview in the opener, 3-1, but used a 12-run fourth inning to cruise to a five-inning, 14-0 win in Game 2. Krystal Young outdueled the Honkers' Jacque Johnson in Game 1, holding Lakeview to just four hits in the complete-game victory. "It was just a well-pitched, well-played game," said Lakeview coach Rick Gage. "Neither pitcher had any big strikeout numbers, they just forced people to put the ball in play." In the nightcap, Lakeview loaded the bases twice with no outs but couldn't put any runs on the board. "It was frustrating," said Gage. "I think the girls were trying too hard in the second game whenever we loaded the bases." Emily Mills and Young had two hits apiece for Henley. Kayla Moulton, Johnson and Krissy Newton each had two hits for the Honkers (5-6 Skyline). SOC Boys Golf ROSEBURG WINS ALL-SOC EVENT - At Roseburg, Asa Yraguen earned medalist honors by shooting a 74 and leading Roseburg to an all-Southern Oregon Conference win at Roseburg Country Club. The Indians strengthened their lead in the SOC standings with a team score of 304. Grants Pass and North Medford scored a 316 to tie for second, while South Medford finished two strokes back at 318. Grants Pass' Joey Rossknecht tied for second with Roseburg's Jeremy Thorburn, each carding a 75. Eric Hill (Grants Pass), Pat Jovin (Roseburg) and Alan Johnson (South Medford) each shot a 76 to tie for fourth.
