On March 12, a man entered a local Medford business and attempted to purchase a portable DVD player and two-way radios totaling $268 with a counterfeit check and fraudulent Oregon identification. When the clerk took his false identification, the man fled the store. The picture shown here is from that identification. Medford police detectives believe the man attempted to purchase merchandise just hours earlier at a grocery store in Central Point. The suspect was described as wearing a blue button-up shirt with a white shirt underneath, blue work pants similar to Dickies and a blue baseball cap with writing on the front. No vehicle was seen. Those with information on this person or on additional incidents involving him are asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT- 105. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases or any unsolved criminal activity. The reward is sponsored by Sonitrol of Southern Oregon.
