Fire precaution rises a notch to level two "Level two" will go into effect at noon on all state, county, private lands as well as property protected by the Bureau of Land Management and ODF in Jackson and Josephine counties. Restrictions will also be placed on national forests, including the Rogue River National Forest and Galice, Illinois Valley, Gold Beach and Chetco Ranger Districts of the Siskiyou National Forests. Between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., the following activities will be prohibited: blasting, welding cutting, power saws (except at log-loading sites), cable yarding of logs, vehicle off-road use, commercial non-agriculture mowing of dry grass, use of non-hand-held equipment with internal combustion engines except in cleared areas and hand-held mowing power equipment. People who operate equipment during the prescribed times must provide a fire watch with communication for two hours. On national forests - protected by the U.S. Forest Service - between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., the following activities are prohibited: use of power saws (except at log-loading sites), cable yarding of logs, blasting and welding or cutting of metal.
