Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend October 26, 2005 Since You Asked: Aviation art stamps available to acquire I saved a copy of your recent article on the aviation artist William Phillips. I’m trying to get ahold of the new aviation stamps to give as a gift for my son in Hillsboro. I called the post office but they didn’t know what I was talking about. Can you tell me how to get ahold of these stamps? — Helen M., Medford We’re not sure why they didn’t know about the stamps, Helen, but you can certainly get ahold of them from the post office, though not all branches always have every stamp carried by the U.S. Postal Service. Ashland artist William Phillips is well known for his aviation paintings. He was first commissioned to produce drawings for U.S. stamps in 1997. This year, the postal service issued a set of 20 new stamps drawn by Phillips commemorating advances in aviation. The Medford post office, 333 W. Eighth St., had 80 sheets of these stamps. But they can also be obtained online at usps.com, then click on the "Buy stamps and shop" link.
