According to a release from the Oregon State Police, Marshall William McKenna, age 24, from Ponder, Texas, was taken into custody early this morning and lodged in the Webb County Jail in Laredo, Texas. No additional details on the arrest were provided. McKenna was one of three young men authorities identified as having participated in the killing of Robert Huntington, who was found shot to death Oct. 23 in his SUV at Lake Selmac in October. Police said they believe the shooting stemmed from a drug deal gone bad. Blake Raymond Sibley, 21, of Denton, Texas, pleaded guilty March 17 to a charge of first-degree manslaughter in the slaying and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree robbery in the case. Sibley and co-defendant Carroll Eugene Ballard, 23, were picked up within days of the discovery of Huntington's body. Ballard remains in custody pending a court date. But McKenna had remained at large and had been the target of manhunt by multiple agencies. The OSP press release said participating agencies included U.S. Marshals Service officers from the Pacific Northwest and Texas and the Denton County (Texas) Sheriff's Office. The Josephine County Major Crime team was involved in the investigation locally. OSP investigators said the trio robbed Huntington at gunpoint and McKenna allegedly fired the fatal shot during the robbery. Huntington's body was found inside his black Chevrolet TrailBlazer near the Lake Selmac boat ramp, about 25 miles south of Grants Pass. Although McKenna was at large, the District Attorney's Office previously charged him with aggravated murder with a firearm, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and second-degree assault with a firearm for allegedly pistol-whipping Huntington during the robbery. It was unclear where Huntington was living at the time of his death, but a family member said he may have been splitting time between Eureka, Calif., and Texas. All three suspects were from the Forth Worth, Texas, area, according to authorities, although Ballard had a court record in Southern Oregon that indicated he was living in Eagle Point as recently as 2014. At the time of the slaying, Ballard had a warrant out for his arrest in Jackson County for the alleged theft of a freezer in August 2013. He also had traffic tickets in Jackson County in 2012.
