Game Warden Merrill's commission had expired and Game Warden Jewell's commission had not arrived, so there was no one to stop their activity. Mr. Sandry's commission had also expired. James H. Driscoll, chief deputy game warden for southern Oregon, arrived in Medford Saturday to take up his work as successor to Sam Sandry. James H. Brown, former editor of the Brownsville Times, now bookkeeper for the game commission, accompanies him. They will familiarize themselves with local conditions. Pernoll pitching for Grants Pass laced out a home run with the bases full. Caster pitching for Medford was not his usual form and was touched up lively at critical stages.
