Mary Jane Elizabeth Feetham, 29, of the 500 block of Laurel Avenue has been indicted on charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. She remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail as of Wednesday on $100,000 bail. Her boyfriend, Justin Matthews, told the Jackson County Sheriff's Office she broke a beer bottle on Sept. 15 and stabbed him in the left forearm while he was protecting his head, an affidavit said. Matthews said the attack was not provoked by anything and Feetham was yelling, "I'm going to kill you," according to the affidavit. "Matthews had a significant gash to his forearm," the affidavit said. For her part, Feetham said she was defending herself during a physical fight with Matthews. She said he had hit her in the head with his fist and a beer bottle. Feetham did not have visible injuries, the affidavit said. In 2014, Feetham was convicted of driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to court records. Matthews was convicted of menacing and harassment this year, along with taking a wild salmon out of season. He was convicted of driving with a suspended license in 2014. In 2013, he was convicted of driving under the influence of intoxicants and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
