Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend November 12, 2005 Multiple charges in Talent shooting A Talent man was jailed for allegedly shooting his estranged wife’s boyfriend Thursday night. Van Tribble, 61, has been charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in connection with the shooting of 46-year-old Jorge Ruiz Ramos, officials said. Jackson County sheriff’s detectives said Tribble went to his estranged wife’s residence in the 600 block of Theo Drive, Talent. Finding Ramos in the bedroom, Tribble shot him, deputies said. Ramos escaped and drove himself to Rogue Valley Medical Center, said Sheriff Mike Winters. Ramos remained hospitalized in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the abdomen late Friday, RMVC officials said. After Ramos drove off, Tribble’s wife ran outside the house, but her husband forced her back inside. Receiving a 9-1-1 call, deputies and officers with Talent and Phoenix police departments responded to the house at about 9:42 p.m. They reported finding Tribble walking down Theo Drive with the firearm. Tribble was lodged in the Jackson County Jail late Friday in lieu of $3 million bail. Winters would not comment on the type of gun used in the incident, citing an on-going investigation.
