Gunman steals auto, wallet A gunman who stole a man�s wallet and car at gunpoint Sunday morning in Medford fired six shots as the victim fled, but no one was hurt, authorities said. Medford police spent much of the day searching for the suspect in the 9:17 a.m. shooting incident at 507 W. Jackson St. in west Medford, but were unable to capture him by late Sunday, police said. Medford police Sgt. Gary Bates declined to release any information about the suspect Sunday evening. The incident began when a man reportedly was seen holding a handgun and knocking on the door at 507 W. Jackson St. Apt. B, police said. The gunman reportedly robbed Daniel James Kaough, 31, of Ashland, of his wallet and his 1987 Honda Prelude, police said. The suspect reportedly told Kaough not to run, police said. But when Kaough did run, a suspect fired six shots from a handgun, but none of the bullets struck Kaough, police said. Police declined to say whether more than one suspect was involved in the incident. Kaough could not be reached for comment. Officers closed an alley adjacent to the apartment for part of the morning.
