Medford police will conduct a "targeted pedestrian safety enforcement operation" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at the intersection of West Main Street and North Ivy Street. A "decoy" pedestrian will cross West Main at the intersection. Drivers who do not stop will be ticketed for failure to stop for a pedestrian and/or for passing a stopped vehicle at a crosswalk. The fine for each of the violations is $265. The Medford Police Department release reminds drivers that a crosswalk exists at every intersection, regardless of whether it is marked. The crosswalk at West Main and North Ivy is marked.
