A Central Point man called police about 6:30 a.m. to report that a man was trespassing on his property in the 400 block of South First Street and that the alleged trespasser had fled, the Central Point Police Department reported. The resident then followed the suspect in a pickup truck, which struck the victim at the intersection of an alley and Cedar Street between First Street and Highway 99, police Capt. Brian Day said. The victim was taken to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, and his condition was critical Monday afternoon, Day said. No arrests were made, and authorities were withholding the identities of the victim and the driver. A multi-agency accident-reconstruction team investigated the crash scene adjacent to the Grange Coop, Day said. At least one other person witnessed the pickup striking the victim, Day said. No other details were released. — Mark Freeman     MailTribune.com Writer Posted Sep. 15, 2014 at 3:49 PM Updated Sep 15, 2014 at 4:45 PM » Comment or view comments Reader Reaction » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
