Community TV wins seven video awards ASHLAND -- Rogue Valley Community Television students, community producers and staff received seven awards of excellence from the Alliance for Community Media at the 15th annual Best of the Northwest video awards last month. The seven were recognized from a pool of 262 entries from seven states and two Canadian provinces. The recipients included: SOU graduate Aaron Torres for his program, "The Janitors," in the original teleplay category. RVTV staff member Joseph Rossi for "Travel Exchange," in the talk show category. RVTV staff member Robin Lawson and SOU student Ian Pribil for "Living with Nature," in the environment category. RVTV staff members Joseph Brett and Pete Belcastro for "Community Connection," in the category of programs for targeted audiences. Community producer Dino Rossi for "TMS Today," in the music video category. Ashland Middle School students for "WAMS," in youth programs category. Jeanene O'Brien for "That's Independence," in the documentary category. RVTV is located on the SOU campus and is primarily run and operated by students, offering experience for broadcast students in a studio setting. It broadcasts nightly to approximately 38,000 homes in Jackson County on channels 9, 30, 31 and 33.
