Violet was born March 30, 1935 to Max and Hazel Overstreet of Medford. She graduated from Medford High School and married James D. Singler February 1, 1953. Violet worked packing pears for Harry & David, for Morris Press of Medford, for the Medford and Klamath Falls judicial systems, and Extension Service of Klamath Falls. Vi loved gardening both for vegetables and flowers, fishing, and hunting. She truly enjoyed good food, music, and socializing. She was very active in her garden club on local, state, and regional levels, and judged floral entries in fairs throughout the state of Oregon. Violet adored spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the Arizona desert and trips to Mexico. Vi loved the Oregon coast and vacationing in Hawaii and Europe. Violet was active in her community and volunteered her time at the PTA, Salvation Army, and for local political causes. She is survived by her four children, Susan Patterson and her husband, Robert, of Skamokawa, Wash., Steven Singler and his wife, Joanne, of Medford, Ore., Daniel Singler and his wife, Carla, of Medford, Ore., and Kathryn Baxter and her husband, Richard, of Port Orchard, Wash.; her siblings, Macy Overstreet of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Marilyn Hill of Grants Pass, Ore., and Doug Overstreet of Grants Pass, Ore.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James D. Singler. A memorial is planned for Saturday, November 14th at 1:00pm at Conger Morris Central Point Chapel, 800 S. Front St., Central Point, Ore. 97502.
