He was the second of four children to Harold and Edna Cady. Betty Hayward, followed by Mick, then Victor Cady, Gridley, Calif. .then Edith Miller from Florida, with a step-brother Lee Clark, Central Point, and half-sister Delores Oberst, Santa Maria, Calif. Mick has three daughters from a previous marriage; Treva Ortiz, Utah; Angie Mecham, Medford;, and Cherrie Westbrooke, Arizona. Mick has six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Mick attended school at Rogue River Academy. He went into the service in January 1954 and was discharged in January 1956. Mick married his wife, Jeanette Poitevint in 1965. Mick want to work in a little mill in White City in 1956 and also picked pears for a short time. He then got a job at Eugene Burrell Lumber Company and worked there for 43 years until they closed the mill down in 1996. Mick loved to fly airplanes. When he was younger he even landed a few times on top of Table Rock. Mick loved family and life to the fullest. Mick loved the outdoors, including fishing, bow hunting, camping, and golfing with his buddies and wife Jeanette. Mick was always willing to help his family and friends in whatever needed to be done. Mick and his wife, Jeanette traveled to Eastern Oregon, Enterpise and Joseph to go elk and deer hunting for five weeks every year. They have been doing this for 40 years. They made a lot of new friends while they were there. Mick loved to tell stories about his hunting and fishing trips to his friends and family. One grandchild, Mike Brakley, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Mick will be at 3:00 p.m, Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Medford. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Hospice in honor of Mick.
