The 6-foot-9 sophomore post helped the Warriors (5-2) claim the Whitman College Wildhorse Resort Classic title with a pair of victories. Fiegi was the tournament’s most valuable player, averaging 30.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in victories over Walla Walla College and Whitman. He was 21-of-30 from the field and 19-of- 26 from the line. He also tallied two blocked shots, a steal and an assist. Through seven games Fiegi is leading the conference, averaging 29.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He tops the league with a 67 percent (80-119) field goal percentage and is second with 1.6 blocked shots per contest. Western Baptist is first in the loop as a team in points per game (92.4), field goal percentage (.526), free throw accuracy (.784), and rebound margin (+6.4). Ex-Panther soccer player Lane on all-academic team DECORAH, Iowa — Krista Lane, a former South Medford soccer player now on the Luther College women’s team, has been named to the 2003 Iowa Conference fall all-academic team. The team is comprised of athletes in football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, volleyball, women’s tennis and women’s golf. Gorecki claims title in Southern Oregon Seniors ROSEBURG — James Gorecki of Sutherlin won the Southern Oregon Seniors bowling tournament at Lava Lanes recently. Gorecki defeated Mike Prulhiere of Grants Pass in the finals, 244-239.
