Mayoral candidates must be registered voters, reside within the city of Medford for at least six months, and obtain 25 qualified signatures from registered voters residing within city limits. City Council candidates must be registered voters, reside within the city ward they would be representing for at least six months prior to appointment, and obtain 25 qualified signatures from registered voters residing within that ward. The general election is Nov. 8. Terms are for four years and start Jan. 1, 2017. Councilors who are up for re-election in November are Daniel Bunn in Ward 4, Chris Corcoran in Ward 3, Dick Gordon in Ward 1 and Eli Matthews in Ward 2. To file as a candidate, election forms must be completed and filed with the city recorder prior to beginning a campaign or gathering signatures. Beginning June 1, forms will be available during office hours in the city manager’s office, Room 310, Medford City Hall, 411 W.
