Letters, Oct. 11 By Mail Tribune readers Oct 11, 2022 12:00 AM A A Vote Golden and Marsh I’m happy to support Jeff Golden and Pam Marsh, candidates for state senator and state representative respectively. They are longtime residents of the Rogue Valley respected for their service to the community. They do their homework. Few of us have the time or expertise to keep up with all the legislative complexities in Salem. It is comforting to know we have these two experienced legislators who have demonstrated their ability to act in our best interest and keep us informed of important developments. In addition, Jeff and Pam have been able to collaborate on key legislation as it progresses between the House of Representatives and the Senate. They have earned our votes. Lynne Dittmer Medford Supporting Dyer As voters in Jackson County begin the process of selecting Jackson County commissioners, it is my pleasure to write in support of Rick Dyer. As our area continues to grow more diverse and progressive, we need a champion like Rick in the commissioner position. He has proven to be one of our elected officials who is willing to hold Salem accountable and has made strong efforts to bring support to Southern Oregon. Knowing Rick personally for many years, I can assure you, this man’s dedication to an area he has called home for 46 years is unshakable. In the last eight years, Rick has done an amazing job promoting local businesses, advocating for our community and showing true leadership in hard times. If you are looking to ensure we move in the right direction, we must ensure that Rick Dyer is re-elected Jackson County commissioner. Jay Christensen Medford Vote Franko and Falkenstein I support Jill Franko and Jim Falkenstein. They have been following issues faced by the Ashland City Council in depth for several years. Jill experienced the relationship between the city and the school district as a member of the School bBoard. She demonstrated a clear understanding of what it means to work in unison as an intergenerational community, and what can inadvertently happen when it doesn’t. She represents a younger perspective which, is sorely needed. She has strong credentials to bring about forward movement. Jim has been following/reporting independent views of council meetings for the past five years. Every one of them. He advocates for transparency and smart, inclusive government, and sees issues for what they are. oth candidates possess clear listening and communication skills and an understanding of the community they will hopefully serve.
