Medford police Monday arrested Cortez on charges of possession of amphetamines, possession of contraband and for allegedly violating her probation from an earlier vehicle-theft conviction. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held Monday without bail. Sex offender — Stephen Michael Evans, 23, of the 2900 block of Bailey Avenue, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Evans on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail. Trespass — Bud E. Ratcliff, 38, no address available. Central Point police Monday arrested Ratcliff on charges of first-degree trespass, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $16,000 bail. Sex abuse — Justin Lee Watkins, 22, of the 900 block of South Stage Road, Medford. Oregon State Police troopers Monday arrested Watkins on two counts of first-degree sex abuse. Advertisement He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $2 million bail. Crime reports Theft — 3900 block of Crater Lake Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report Monday of theft of a lawn mower, backpack, leaf blower, edger, a Weedeater and a hedge trimmer. The theft, which was reported at 8:29 a.m., was valued at $2,650. Theft — 3200 block of La Rue Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report Monday of the theft of miscellaneous jewelry from a residence. The theft, which was reported at 9:09 a.m., was valued at $6,100. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 130 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 230 inmates. Of those, 44 were released before their scheduled court appearances, 33 were granted an early release from a sentence and 53 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
