Ashland Ski Area, the Mt. Ashland Association announced today. The Lodge Improvement Campaign aims to raise $1.4 million to refurbish the lodge, provide a more comfortable and spacious ski-in, ski-out locker room in the current rental shop, move the rental shop to the lodge basement, cover and enclose outdoor decks, add more than 1,000 square feet of indoor heated space and replace the roof, among other improvements, according to a media release. Ski area managers hope to wrap up the fundraising campaign by April 1, with construction set to begin in early May. Construction should be complete in October in time for next ski season.
