CRIME Medford assault suspect apprehended near Mexico border Comment By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Apr. 15, 2015 at 10:51 AM By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Apr. 15, 2015 at 10:51 AM » Social News A man who allegedly stabbed another man twice during a fight in southwest Medford earlier this month has been arrested, according to Medford police. Details on the arrest of 41-year-old Ezequiel Ayala Enriquez are scant thus far, though police did confirm he was recently arrested near the California-Mexico border. "Glad to hear his luck finally ran out," a post on the agency's Facebook page reads. Enriquez, of the 500 block of Benson Street, also goes by the nicknames of "Droopy" and "Alex." He has had a nationwide felony warrant out for his arrest since the alleged assault, which occurred April 4 in the Minute Market parking lot at 1217 W. Stewart Ave. Investigators have been warning the public that he is to be considered armed and dangerous and not to be approached. Enriquez allegedly walked up to a 29-year-old man he knew about 20 minutes to midnight. Police have said Enriquez and the man got into an argument stemming from a past issue investigators said they will not disclose. The argument grew more heated and eventually turned physical. Both men began throwing punches. Enriquez eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed the 29-year-old twice in the side. The man was treated at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center and released. Court records show Enriquez was indicted on second-degree assault and attempt to commit a felony on April 8. An April 17 arraignment on a separate drug case for Enriquez had been set prior to the incident, court records show. In that case, Enriquez had been indicted on possession of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine, and manufacture and delivery of cocaine and methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school.
