Gold Hill boil notice has been lifted Friday Oct 21, 2016 at 1:35 PM Oct 21, 2016 at 5:54 PM Water in Gold Hill is safe to drink out of the tap again, but only until Monday. The Oregon Health Authority authorized the city to lift a boil order issued Wednesday after Southern Oregon Water Technology of Cave Junction tested 13 samples for bacteria, and all came back negative, a news release issued by the city of Gold Hill said.  The boil notice was put in place Wednesday afternoon after three waterline breaks that raised the possibility of bacterial contamination. A water shutdown scheduled for this coming Monday will put the water on another boil notice after crews reduce water pressure near Fourth Avenue and Dardanelles Street to install a manhole cover nearby, according to Gold Hill mayor Jan Fish. Bottled drinking water will be available at City Hall Monday morning.
