Hanukkah celebration set for Medford Friday Dec 8, 2017 at 12:55 PM Dec 8, 2017 at 3:17 PM Medford will celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of a 10-foot menorah at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in downtown's Vogel Plaza, at the corner of Central Avenue and Main Street. Sponsored by the Chabad Jewish Center of Southern Oregon, the lighting of the menorah will take place the second night of Hanukkah. Medford Mayor Gary Wheeler and Dick Heimann, longtime executive with Lithia Motors, will do the lighting. The Hanukkah celebration will feature a special fire-dancing performance, live music, latkes and donuts for sale, and a gift shop with Hanukkah items. Chabad will also host its 15th annual menorah lighting on the Plaza in downtown Ashland on the first night of Hanukkah, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12.
