Davis I died peacefully May 3, 2015 at home, under Ashland hospice care. I was born in Little Rock, Ark. and spent my formative years in Chicago, Ill. For many years, it seemed as though everything I touched turned to roses. I was involved in extracurricular activities including: baseball, football, and the chess club. I wish I could have nursed more out of that time. My lifelong ambition was to attend West Point Military Academy. After graduating from West Point, I spent time in Vietnam and Korea. I decided that the Army was not my destiny, although I spent over two decades in the Army Reserves. I met my wife and soul mate, Linda in 1997 in Pasadena, Calif. We moved to Benicia in northern California in 2000, then to Silver City, N.M. in 2006, and finally, landed in the wonderful town of Jacksonville, Ore. in 2008. Over the course of my life, I have learned to value kindness, caring, humor, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of others. My greatest pleasures in life included my family, human and canine; over 45 years of riding sport bike motorcycles; driving fast sports cars - the latest of which was a Porshe Cayman S. I enjoyed writing both fiction and non-fiction books, and watching football, boxing, and tennis. I am survived by my wife, Linda; my two daughters, Suzanne Davis and Sheri Davis Slade, the mother of my three wonderful grandsons, Christian, Chase, and Chandler; and my Old English Mastiff, Ellie.
