Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend March 26, 2006 Accident leads to manslaughter charge A Grants Pass man was arrested Saturday on a manslaughter charge after police found he was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of a crash that killed a passenger in the car he was driving, officials said. Grants Pass police responded at around 6:30 a.m. to a report of a roll-over accident at the intersection of Redwood and Williams highways. When officers arrived, they found a white Isuzu Trooper lying on its passenger side in the northbound lane of Redwood Highway. They found two men outside the Trooper and learned that another man was trapped beneath the vehicle, officials said. The trapped man, later identified as Isais Frank Camacho, 28, no known address, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Wade Leon Hardaway, 30, of the 1400 block of Dowell Road, Grants Pass, and passenger Jason Montgomery, 22, no known address, were transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital, where they were treated for injuries and released. Police allege Hardaway lost control of the Trooper while turning a corner, causing the car to flip and rolled over, ejecting Camacho. Advertisement Hardaway was later lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of intoxicants. Oregon State Police troopers assisted with accident reconstruction and traffic control. Oregon Department of Transportation crews shut the intersection down for three hours as the investigation continued.
