Arrested Saturday was Marshall William McKenna of Ponder, Texas, according to Oregon State Police. McKenna faces charges of aggravated murder and robbery in the death of Roger L. Huntington, 43, who was found Oct. 23 shot to death in his SUV near a boat ramp at the lake south of Grants Pass. Authorities have indicated they believe Huntington was killed and robbed in a drug deal gone bad. McKenna was being held Saturday in the Webb County Jail in Laredo, Texas, near the border with Mexico. Laredo is about 500 miles from McKenna's home outside Fort Worth. It was not immediately clear how long it will take to extradite him. The arrest was made through the efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Denton County Sheriff's Office, "ending the five-month fugitive manhunt," according to a news release from OSP. A second suspect in the case, Blake Raymond Sibley, 21, of Denton, Texas, pleaded guilty last month in Josephine County to charges of first-degree manslaughter and robbery, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. A third suspect, Carroll Eugene Ballard, 23, of Sanger, Texas, is awaiting trial on charges of murder, robbery and assault. A probable-cause statement written by OSP states the trio robbed Huntington at gunpoint and McKenna allegedly pulled the trigger. Prosecutors have charged McKenna with aggravated murder with a firearm, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and second-degree assault with a firearm for allegedly pistol-whipping Huntington during the robbery. The Triplicate newspaper in Crescent City, quoting Sibley's attorney, Dan Simcoe of Grants Pass, reported that Sibley and Ballard had previously made numerous trips north from Texas to purchase marijuana, but on their latest voyage they brought along McKenna. Simcoe said the trio had arranged to purchase 15 pounds of marijuana, which could sell for four times as much in Texas as it would locally. Simcoe said unbeknownst to his client, Ballard and McKenna "had made arrangements to try to get the marijuana without paying for it." In the ensuing struggle, McKenna allegedly pistol-whipped Huntington, then shot him.
