Tumy Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jan. 27, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Jan. 27, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Page Leard Tumy passed away January 22, 2015 at her home in Medford, Ore. at the age of 86. She was born April 12, 1928 in San Diego, Calif. to Frank Jacques Leard and Mildred Nason Leard. She was raised in San Diego until she was a junior in high school when her father moved the family to Carmel, to manage two sardine canneries. She received her BA degree from the University of Oregon where she met her future husband Gilbert S. Tumy. Upon graduation, Page joined her parents in San Francisco, Calif. where she worked at Martin, Hoyt & Milne, an import/export corporation, for two years. She and Gill were married May 17, 1952 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Burlingame, Calif. They then came to Medford, Ore. where Gill joined his father at the Tumy Insurance Agency. Their son, Michael F. Tumy, was born March 16, 1954 and Page became a devoted homemaker and mom. Page became an active member in the community as a member of the AA chapter of P.E.O., The Hospital Auxiliary at Rogue Valley Medical Center, The Medford Colony Club, St. Mark's Altar Guild, The Jr. Service League, and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Survivors include Page's son, Michael F. Tumy of Yakima, Wash. and her grandson, Aaron R. Tumy of Seattle, Wash. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Mildred Leard and her husband of 25 years, Gilbert S. Tumy. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford, Ore. Memorial service, with reception to follow, will commence at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
