"You wish for peace, and then, when it is time to go to sleep, you pray for peace. While you sleep, you dream for peace and when you wake up in the morning, you will have peace," she said with a broad smile and an expansive wave of her arms. Lizzy and other youngsters billed as psychic are sharing their insights with nearly 600 people gathered in Ashland this weekend. They are the centerpiece of "Playing Peace: A Celebration of Psychic & Indigo Children," a conference organized by author and musician James Twyman. An Ashland resident, Twyman has been drawn to children with special abilities in recent years and organized his first conference on bringing their message to the world last year in Hawaii, said Marianne Wilson, an organizer of the Ashland conference. Advertisement Lizzy met Twyman, referred to by those who know him as Jimmy, shortly before the Hawaii conference, which she also attended. "He said to think about words and what would you say to the world," she said. For a moment, she felt nervous and a little stumped. "Then, I went into my intuition and out of the blue came ‘wish,’ ‘pray,’ ‘dream’ and ‘have,’ "she said. With those four words Lizzy built a path to peace that she’s confident anyone can follow, and she’s happy to share with all. "I never get tired of saying it because it gives me joy," she explained. Waiting for her presentation to begin Friday afternoon, Lizzy said she also planned to tell people to trust their intuition and that they can correct mistakes they make. "It’s like you have a good side and an evil side," she said. "The good side will peck at you. "A lot of stuff in your life you can always correct. If something doesn’t make sense to you, you can stop." Lizzy said sharing her ideas is one of her favorite things at conferences. She also likes looking at goods offered by vendors and seeing friends. "It’s all stuff I can relate to," she said, dashing past tables displaying crystals, herbal supplements, flower essences, books and more. The Ashland conference, at the Windmill Inn, features about 30 vendors, organizers said. Many of the conference’s adult presenters are selling their books, games and other materials at the gathering. Presenters include authors Jean Houston and Neale Donald Walsch, as well as film producer Stephen Simon, who has teamed with Walsch to make a movie about psychic children starting next month in Ashland. In addition to workshops for adults, the conference has a psychic kids’ camp with music, dance, theater and other playful opportunities for youngsters to create and share ideas, said organizer Theresa Stuesser, of Ashland. Separately, a workshop in "Brain Respiration," a system developed in Korea to enhance psychic abilities, is offered to children of all ages. Trainer Joo-ri Jun said participants will be tested to see if they can stick spoons to their forehead with energy, bend spoons and perceive colors while blindfolded. Then, over the weekend, they will complete a series of games and exercises designed to boost such abilities and be tested again with results presented as part of the main conference.
